It feels strange to be sitting here on the couch in my pyjamas on this beautiful Palm Sunday morning, knowing that I won’t journey through Holy Week with my church family…at least not in the way we are used to! As much as I love Christmas and all its traditions and celebrations, I will admit that Easter eclipses it in my mind. I love Easter! I will miss having communion together at our Maundy Thursday service. I will miss gathering together with other area churches for our annual joint Good Friday service. I will miss the exuberance and joy in our midst on Easter Sunday morning…seeing the stone rolled away on the empty tomb that sits at the front of the church every year. No Easter choir, no dressed-up kiddos, no hot cross buns. But the reality is, those things are not what we’re celebrating anyway. I may miss the comfort of familiar traditions, but what we are actually remembering hasn’t changed! Jesus is ALIVE! And maybe this “quieter” Easter season will give me even more time to reflect and worship Him!

Most anyone who visits this blog probably knows my husband is a pastor. We have been recording worship times here at home the past few weeks and sharing them on our church YouTube channel and Facebook page. I thought I’d share our Easter services here on the blog too. Maybe some of you are missing your usual church routine as well. Our worlds have shrunk as we’ve all retreated to the confines of our homes, but I find the church has grown in my mind. Technology has “redeemed” itself somewhat and shown me its good side by connecting believers around the globe right now. So I pray that someone, somewhere will be blessed by joining their heart with ours as we worship our Risen Saviour this week!
So many changes! But Christ has risen from the dead! Praying God’s truth over all!
