Praying through Ephesians 6 this morning, I started noticing all the possessive words. The armour? It’s God’s. The schemes? They are the Devil’s. The struggle? Well, that’s mine. But you know what else is mine in this passage? The ground. “…stand your ground…” I am standing on legitimate ground. I am not trespassing. This is my inheritance. It’s my birthright and my blessing as a child of God. It’s where He has put me and where I belong, and I will not relinquish it. My scheming enemy may try to intimidate me into yielding it, but I have God’s armour to fight these struggles of mine.
May you be encouraged today to stand YOUR ground and fight YOUR battles with GOD’S truth and righteousness and peace. May you hold tightly to HIS word and YOUR faith in that word.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
